Jennifer L. Caputi, Esq. is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University (International Business Management, 2001) and Roger Williams Law School (J.D., 2004). She was admitted to practice law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts in 2004 and shortly thereafter became a partner at a former law firm that she owned and operated from 2004 until 2015. In June of 2015 she opened her own firm, Caputi Law, LLC. In addition to Rhode Island and Massachusetts, she has been admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut as well as before the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island.
Ms. Caputi is a licensed title insurance agent in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan. Since 2011, she has been an instructor of her own licensed Rhode Island real estate agency school.
Sheri Montecalvo, Esq. is of counsel and focuses on the estate planning and probate practice within Caputi Law, LLC. Attorney Montecalvo concentrates her practice in the areas of estate and asset protection planning, elder law, probate, trust administration, guardianship, disability/special needs planning and Medicaid planning. Attorney Montecalvo is admitted in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut and before the United States District Court for the Districts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit as well as the United States Supreme Court.
She earned a B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Rhode Island College in 2000, her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2004 and has completed several Federal and State clerkships in Rhode Island and Connecticut. Attorney Montecalvo has been practicing on her own in these practice areas since May of 2012 and previously was an estate planning attorney with the well-known providence law firm of Salter McGowan Sylvia & Leonard from 2006-2012.
Office Administrator / Legal Assistant
Paula Santilli oversees the day to day operations of the office and is a legal assistant to the attorneys. She always has a smile on her face and makes you feel welcomed. She arranges the office schedule, greets clients, and helps keep the office organized. With her helpful and positive attitude, she is always there to help a team member or client in anyway. Mrs. Santilli also manages the courses and schedule for Caputi Real Estate Education pre-licensing sales and continuing education courses.
Post Closing Team Leader
Patricia Grilo has been working in the real estate industry as a paralegal since 2000. She has a deep knowledge of the intricacies of real estate transactions, and oversees all files from closing to post-closing. Her skills include the preparation of closing packages, issuance of title insurance policies, and funding and disbursement. Her diligence and meticulous work ethic ensure that every file receives the attention it requires, and that each transaction is processed correctly. Ms. Grilo goes above and beyond her work duties when handling a file, and offers nothing short of exceptional customer service. She is an invaluable asset of Caputi Law.
Closing Team Leader
Danielle Mascarella (Catherine Gibbs 2005) is our closing team leader. She has over 10 years experience in the real estate industry. Her expertise revolves around the closing steps of a real estate transaction and her knowledge covers the closing customs and practices in over a dozen states. Upon receiving a real estate file, Ms. Mascarella begins processing the transaction to ensure a timely, seamless, and compliant closing. Her helpful attitude, organizational skills, and dedication are examples of her key strengths. Ms. Mascarella is a vital team member of Caputi Law, LLC, and is a crucial reason that a real estate transaction closes successfully.
Real Estate Paralegal Assistant
Sylvia Caputi is Caputi Law’s paralegal assistant. Ms. Caputi assists with the file work load ranging from ordering titles, tracking titles, obtaining municipal information for refinances and purchases, and discharge tracking. She is a quick learner and always ready to help any of the other team members. Ms. Caputi is dedicated to her work and takes every step necessary to make sure all the necessary information needed on a file is complete to ensure a timely successful closing.
Jamie Lemieux (CCRI, Paralegal Studies 2005) is Caputi Law’s file coordinator. Ms. Lemieux has been a real estate paralegal for over ten years. Her experience ranges from title curative responsibilities to being a closing paralegal in many states. Her skills include processing titles, clearing titles, preparing real estate documentation, preparing closing packages and following closing procedures. Ms. Lemieux also has experience in managing a team and overseeing the daily production of work load. Her organization, guidance, and strong work ethic help keep all Caputi Law’s transactions on track to a smooth closing.
