Caputi Law is proud to offer an educational program in the form of a Rhode Island licensed real estate school known as Caputi Real Estate Education. We offer pre-licensing to those interested in obtaining real estate broker and sales licenses, as well as continuing education to existing real estate sales licensees and brokers. All courses are designed from scratch by the founder and instructor, Jennifer L. Caputi, Esq. The courses are designed to be informative, fresh, and fun, with a focus on current industry events.  Courses are also offered to other real estate professionals seeking education and training, without accreditations. We are here to Educate!

  • A “Peek" Behind the Closing Curtain

    1 Hour / 1 Credit

    Did you ever wonder about the procedures that happen “behind the curtain” in a closing attorney’s office? These closing procedures should not be a surprise, and as a realtor you should be able to fully explain the role of the closing attorney to your clients. This course will explain in detail what happens from the beginning of a real estate transaction through closing and beyond, with a focus on the particulars of the closing attorney’s duties, responsibilities, and special role in the process. Course topics will include the purchase and sales contract, the pieces of the pre-closing puzzle that are collected, reviewed and put together for the transaction, closing documentation, such as the settlement statement/HUD, what happens at the actual closing, and post-closing issues. We will also discuss how you can become involved with the closing attorney to ensure a smooth and timely closing.

  • CDF (f/k/a/ Settlement Statement/HUD)

    1 hour / 1 CE Credits

    Take a look at the new Loan Estimate (LE) and Closing Disclosure form (CDF) that goes into effect on October 3, 2015. This course goes overs the new LE and CDF page by page in detail. Take this course to prepare and transition from today’s HUD-1 and GFE to the Closing Disclosure and Loan Estimate.

  • Behind the Closing Curtain

  • Oh My! Real Estate Sales Disclosures and Inspection Law

    3 Hours / 3 CORE CE Credits

    This course is designed to provide instruction on the Real Estate Disclosure Law (Chapter 5-20.8) as it pertains to you and your client. With the use of group exercises, the course analyzes the statutes by which you and your client are bound to conduct yourselves in every transaction. By having knowledge of the law, you will be able to manage your transactions better, minimize the likelihood of contract re-negotiations before and after an inspection, avoid liability, and have a successful transaction.

  • Landed a Listing – Now What?

    3 hours/ 3 CE Credits

    This course will review the pertinent terms of an “Exclusive Right to Sell Listing Agreement.” It will highlight parts of real estate profession rules and regulations and real estate agency relationships. There will also be instruction on marketing tips and how to handle different types of “Sellers” when it comes to their personalities and legal capacities. Through group exercises, a mini-game show, and group discussions, this course will either teach you or refresh your knowledge on the components of selling a property.
